The Desbois family bought the estate in 1891, replanted the phylloxera-ravaged vineyard on grafted rootstock, and still run it today.\n\nThe wine is a Merlot-dominant blend with smaller parts of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, matured in French oak barrels and bottled at the chateau. Expect a supple, medium-bodied Right Bank red with ripe cherry fruit, touches of cocoa and liquorice, and a cedary note from the oak.
