Today it belongs to the Tessandier family, and the wine is made at their Chateau Maucamps nearby.\n\nThe vines grow on fine Garonne gravel over blue clay, a well-drained soil that gives the wine its structure, and the fruit is hand harvested at low yields. The wine is built on Merlot and aged in French oak barrels. Expect blackberry, plum and date fruit with leather and cedar, fine-grained tannins, and notes of chocolate and cafe latte on a smooth, long finish.
