Olivier Depardon took over in 1985 and grew it from four hectares to around 26, and today his son Alexis runs the vineyards and winemaking while his daughter Caroline handles sales.\n\nTheir Beaujolais-Villages is made from Gamay grown on the lower slopes around Morgon, on crystalline soils. The fruit is fully destemmed with no whole bunches, giving a round, aromatic wine with vibrant fruit, spice and a mineral edge. The domaine describes a bright ruby colour with purple tints, fresh strawberry and raspberry lifted by floral notes, a supple, generous palate with crunchy fruit, light structure and fine tannins, and a clean, refreshing finish.
