Olivier Depardon took over in 1985 with just four hectares and has built it to around 26, mostly in Morgon, with his son Alexis now running the vineyards and cellar and his daughter Caroline looking after sales.\n\nThis Regnie comes from a small holding near the Morgon border: about four hectares of Gamay averaging 50 years old on sandy, decomposed granite. The grapes are destemmed but not crushed, fermented spontaneously in a semi-carbonic style, and aged for around six months in concrete. The domaine describes a bright ruby wine with fresh strawberry, raspberry and redcurrant, subtle floral notes, crunchy fruit and fine tannins. Lovely young and lightly chilled, and it will keep for several years.
