The vines were planted in 1966 on sandy, loamy soils over green chalk, and the wine is bottled under the Saumur-Champigny appellation.\n\nGrapes are picked and sorted by hand, fermented with indigenous yeasts and made without added sulphites, then aged for around 10 months in concrete vats rather than oak. The estate describes jammy red fruit from the first sniff, a clean frame, and minerality with peppery tannins carrying the finish. The vineyards are farmed organically with a biodynamic approach.
