The Rosacker Grand Cru rises above the village and is one of Alsace's celebrated limestone sites.\n\nMader's Riesling comes from a south to southeast facing section of the vineyard, mostly the upper part, where the vines are 43 to 68 years old on deep limestone rich in magnesium and silica. Yields are around 40 hectolitres per hectare. The grapes are whole bunch pressed and fermented naturally, then the wine spends six to nine months on fine lees in stainless steel. The result is a dry Riesling of rich, intense citrus fruit, minerality, structure and outstanding length.
