This exquisite single-vintage Armagnac, drawn from the Domaine de Bellair and bottled at cask strength after nearly half a century in oak, showcases the very soul of 1975.
It pours a warm brown with golden glints and opens with an inviting nose of sun-warmed plums, fig jam, cracked walnuts, toasted brioche, leather, dark cocoa, and tobacco. On the palate, it offers a gourmet richness, with notes of fig jam, apple pie, brioche, espresso, dark chocolate, liquorice, and toasted oak, held together by velvety tannins and understated earthiness. The finish is long, soulful, and nuanced, with ghostly threads of rancio, forest-floor depth, balsamic wood, and bittersweet tobacco lingering well after the last sip.
