Tasting Notes: Aromas of bright fruits, green caramel apple with rye spices and heavy vanilla sweetness. The palate upfront is spice, with a swirl of sweetness and burst of freshness. The spiced heat profile of the rye softly settles. A zesty spice brings out a more dense sweet nectar creating an intricate finish.
Old Louisville batch #2 - 6 years old 48% cask strength Bourbon
New import to Australia, Cerbaco selected this whiskey after trying over a hundred during a work trip in Kentucky early 2023. This one is unique: no rye in the mash bill but high wheat (51% corn/ 45% wheat/ 4% malted barley). Also, a very interesting maturation in damp humid cellar: the 48% is "uncut" cask strength. From this mash bill and ageing (6 years for the record), you get a pronounced whiskey. Dense, dark aromas are evident on the nose. Yum. A first sip gives you caramel, cacao. Very happy. The most remarkable trait is the long smooth finish: with no dilution at 48%, this is a wonderful dram for beginners and connoisseurs alike. Only 200 bottles available Australia wide.
