MASTER TASTERS NOTE
The nose transports us to a universe of peat and smoke and is enriched with aromas of tropical fruits, candied orange and golden tobacco. When swirled, notes of licorice and toast appear, while gradually giving way to the inviting cigar box aroma, characteristic of our aged rums. The taste is balanced with excellent breadth and asserts the peaty notes of the finish, enhanced by rare spices and soaked fruits aromas.

For its tenth edition, our Boulet de canon is hitting hard! BOOM! Resulting from the ageing of our usual Boulet de canon blend (Nicaragua and Panama) in Six Quarter casks (quarter casks of a Butt = 125 Litres) from a very famous Islay distillery. These casks underwent the same smoking process as did the Boulet de canon Nยฐ5 casks. Indeed, we sent these 6 casks to be smoked in a Tuyรฉ (Jura Morteau sausage smokehouse) for 2 months before pouring the rum for a 6- month finish in the closed barrels. Tasting Notes: Nose: At first honeyed aroma emerges from the glass, then aromas of prunes and currants. It evolves into pine sap, iodine, and candied orange. Mouth: A franc, woody, and roasted attack. Followed then by iced chestnut and English fudge notes, but also a touch of sweet chillies, mixed with lemongrass. Jean and Adrien Neisson acquired their siteย in Le Carbet in 1922, building the distillery nine years later. This vintage Cognac comes from a small fruit farm situated in the area of Saintes, a few kilometers from the eponym city. Starting in 1971 with 10 hectares of apple tree, this farm owns now about 100 hectares of fruit trees, and only a few of hectares of vine. This hardy terroir, made of clay and loam, is not claiming to be the best for vine growing. However, a good culture of the vine, a fine distillation, and quality aging, make this cognac powerful and balanced, more and more sought after by the amateurs.
