This latest masterpiece from Foursquare distillery marks the first time we are seeing a calvados cask in use for the distillery. The molasses rum undergoes a carefully coordinated maturation process: one part is initially aged for ten years in ex-bourbon barrels and then matures for a further four years in Calvados barrels, while the other part spends the entire maturation period of 14 years exclusively in bourbon barrels.
Winning 99 points at the IWSC in 2024 the judges expressed it to be “Enticing aromas of leather and olive oil greet the senses, leading to a tantalising blend of citrus peel, cinnamon, oak, dark chocolate, and nutmeg. Plummy, spiced fruit dances on the palate, upon a soft, sweet mouthfeel. A dry, tangy finish lingers, revealing layers of caramel, banana bread, and tobacco. Luxurious and long-lasting.” – International Wine & Spirits Competition
