Vintage Conditions
2019, growing season was moderate to cool with good fruit set conditions. Fires ripped through the lower south of Tasmania early in 2019 and we were lucky enough to escape and come out smoke free. Ripening season was moderate and fruit ripened well with vintage being earlier then usual and a quick one.
Winemaking
Tank fermented with 12 day skin contact. Aged in barriques for 12months. Full malo in barriques.
Tasting Note
The nose has all the trademarks of a good cool climate Syrah - Plum, black berries, green pepper corn and a slight muskiness, the palate backs this up with white pepper and plums, silky tannins and a good back palate balance.
