Hilke is a specialist in linocutting: a traditional and highly skilled craft, derived from woodcutting: the oldest printmaking technique.Woodcutting has been the inspiration behind all Eden Mill illustrations in our branding, so Hilkeโs unique style and process was a perfect fit for our 2019 Release. Her work aligns perfectly with Eden Mill's traditional yet experimental principles.
Eden Mill Head Distiller, Scott Ferguson has incorporated a selection of oloroso hogsheads, pedro ximenez hogsheads, american bourbon barrels, with a cask of chocolate malt spirit and crystal malt spirit to craft our latest Single Malt.

Yamazakura is a new release from Sasanokawa distillery, dating back to 1765 with recognised sake and schochu. Based in the city of Koriyama Sasanokawa expanded into whisky in the 1940s. This represents a high-end complement to their entry level whisky range ('Yama' means 'mountain' and 'Sakura' means cherry tree, hence the beautiful label design).
This blend is composed of four malt whiskies and one grain whisky. Orange blossoms on the nose, followed by oak, caramel, and fresh orchard fruit on the palate. Ideal in a highball.

Bouilleur Fine de Faugeres 5-11 years. After a minimum of 5 years of maturation (this edition:13 years) in an oak barrel, distilled wine becomes the brandy of protected designation of origin, โLa Fine Faugรจresโ. Once famed as โFranceโs third brandyโ, production had ceased some decades ago until it was resumed at the beginning of the new millennium. Today we are the only distillery producing this Fine for the winemakers of Faugรจres. Each year we chose one of their wines to make our own vintage barrel. Grape variety (Syrah, Grenache, Carignan, Mourvรจdre, Cinsault), the schist terroir, distillation and the choice of the barrel are the elements that together create the characteristic notes of fruit, salt and a hint of tobacco leaves in the Fine Faugรจres. Its uniqueness lies in the velvety softness and length of its taste. Enjoy it with sweet dishes like Crรชpes or almond cake, but it also accompanies perfectly a good stong black coffee โ or the finish of your day.

The whisky has spent 3 years in a Bourbon cask. Polished brass. Thick, oily peat at first before a dryish / mildly fruity nose which is also slightly grassy. Sweeter in later inhalations revealing sponge cake, wax, oil (linseed?) followed by hints of dried apple, straw bale and vanilla after five minutes aeration. An odd yet appealing combination. Johnny Drum Private Stock Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is the premium offering from the Johnny Drum range. Bottled at 101 proof, this big bold bourbon is a terrific rich, mellow old-school sour mash bourbon produced in very limited quantities to a method unchanged in five generations of quality distilling. At cask strength , this is the flagship from the Johnny Drum range of handmade bourbons, produced in small batches at Willett Distillery. NAS but approximatively 8 years old.
EYE: copper gold colour with a gold hue.
NOSE: a touch of shellac at first, then toffee apple, mixed nuts and an enticing array of spices including clove and vanilla.
PALATE: the attack yields concentrated flavours of dried fruits, caramel, sweet spices and sandalwood. The mouthfeel is creamy and mildly prickly at the same time, however the whisky maintains excellent balance at this strength. Finishes soft and dry with an aftertaste of vanillan oak, creme caramel and a subtle liquorice strap fade. A big, complex Bourbon experience. 50.5% Alc./Vol.
