Tasting note
Gelas has always aged its armagnacs grape by grape, and from those reserves it bottles three single variety Bas Armagnacs at their natural cask strength, each with at least 18 years in wood and none of them filtered. This is the Baco, bottled at 47.4%.
Baco 22A is a hybrid of Folle Blanche and Noah, created after phylloxera by a schoolteacher from the Landes called Monsieur Baco. It settled in well on the sands of the Bas Armagnac, where, Gelas says, it gives eaux de vie roundness, softness and ripe fruit, especially after a long time in cask.
Colour. Deep topaz with golden glints.
Nose. Very complex, led by sweet spice, with cinnamon and roasted coffee.
Palate. A direct, lively entry opens into richness, with liquorice and the tannic depth of preserved plums, then a long finish of wood, toast and spice. Deep in the bottom of the glass, preserved plum and apricot come through.

Once your order is confirmed you will receive a shipping notification with a tracking reference. Larger or mixed orders sometimes travel as more than one parcel, and you will get tracking for each.
Alcohol can only be delivered to a person aged 18 or over. The courier may ask for photo ID and will not leave your order unattended. We do not offer authority to leave on alcohol orders.
We do not deliver to PO boxes or parcel lockers.
