Tasting note

Bernard Metrat took over the family domaine from his father Andre in 2008, and the family has worked vines in Fleurie for generations. Alongside Fleurie and Chiroubles the domaine farms a small Morgon holding, and Terre d'Alizarine is the result. The name comes from the alizarine plant, known for its red flowers. The wine comes from just half a hectare of south facing vines over 70 years old, on sandy granite soils. It is made entirely in cement tanks with 100% whole bunches and indigenous yeasts. Expect deep, perfumed aromas with hints of violet, a full palate of fresh bright fruit and exotic spice, and soft, round, silky tannins with enough structure to age for a few years. A generous cru Beaujolais that also drinks well young.

Once your order is confirmed you will receive a shipping notification with a tracking reference. Larger or mixed orders sometimes travel as more than one parcel, and you will get tracking for each.

Alcohol can only be delivered to a person aged 18 or over. The courier may ask for photo ID and will not leave your order unattended. We do not offer authority to leave on alcohol orders.
