Tasting note
Normandin-Mercier was founded in 1872 near La Rochelle by Jules Normandin, and today Edouard Normandin carries on the house's work of ageing and blending Grande and Petite Champagne. The Très Vieille is a Grande Champagne cognac that the house calls a living witness to its founder's work, with more than a century of ageing in the family cellars. It reaches 40% naturally, with no need for reduction, and it wears the plainest of labels.
Colour. Coppery mahogany with reddish copper glints.
Nose. Candied and dried fruit lead, with roasted tones of chocolate, grilled coffee and smoke. Then rancio, recalling port and a cellar of old brandies, old cask and cigar box, and spice in the form of cinnamon, vanilla, liquorice and saffron. Lighter touches of rose, tobacco, lime blossom and honey sit behind.
Palate. Broad, powerful and aromatic: dried fruit, rancio, roasted notes, vanilla and wood, then a very long finish. The house sums it up as very complex, subtle and harmonious, a cognac to be tasted with reverence. The rest of the house range is in our Normandin-Mercier collection.

Free delivery on orders over $499, anywhere in Australia except the Northern Territory, which we do not deliver to. Standard rates apply below that and are calculated at checkout.
Once your order is confirmed you will receive a shipping notification with a tracking reference. Larger or mixed orders sometimes travel as more than one parcel, and you will get tracking for each.
Alcohol can only be delivered to a person aged 18 or over. The courier may ask for photo ID and will not leave your order unattended. We do not offer authority to leave on alcohol orders.
We do not deliver to PO boxes or parcel lockers.
