Paul Giraud Cognac Vieille Reserve 25 years Grande Champagne 40% 700ml - Brandy - Liquor Wine Cave
Paul Giraud Cognac Vieille Reserve 25 ... $221.81
The Vieille Réserve is often the favourite cognac of our Grande Champagne lovers, especially ladies. This cognac expresses all the fullness of the fruity aromas typical of a Grande Champagne, aged for a long time in oak barrels. To fully appreciate this cognac, take time, sit in a good chair and heat the glass with the palm of your hand. The trip to a stone fruit orchard can begin. At the beginning of the tasting, the aromas of fresh fruit at the beginning of summer - like peach or apricot - appear. As the glass warms, aromas of riper fruit, more oxidized by the sun, are revealed, such as plums, prunes and Agen prunes. These are the fruits of late summer: hot, matured, and stewed. At the end of the tasting, spices appear then the vanilla side of the oak barrel. Round and mellow, this cognac is easily savoured. Another remarkable point, the length in the mouth, so characteristic of the Grande Champagne. The combination with a chocolate dessert (such as a Black Forest or a fondant) is quite appropriate.

Paul Giraud Cognac 'Elegance' Grande C... $121.32
This young cognac has been specially developed to be drunk as an aperitif, on ice, or for the preparation of cocktails. Exceptionally distilled without lees and aged in old casks, it is light and aromatic. In a word, it is ... elegant. To taste it, we recommend a simple recipe: 30 ml of elegance, 50 ml of Paul Giraud grape juice and 50 ml of the tonic of your choice; all very cool. This is another way to discover cognac.   for more Paul Giraud
Paul Giraud Cognac Heritage 60 years Grande Champagne 40% 700ml - Brandy - Liquor Wine Cave
Paul Giraud Cognac Heritage 60 years G... $806.37
The only blend - with Noblesse - of our range, the Heritage is to be classified separately, both aromatically and historically. This cognac has reached the paroxysm of oxidation. The aromas that have lost freshness and intensity tend towards almonds, kernels and the famous "rancio" so characteristic of very very old cognacs. This taste is difficult to describe. It is found in old beeswax furniture or old walnut oils; it only appears after a very long aging. It can also be found in Porto, Sherry, Maury. Such an aroma is inimitable: only time does its work. This cognac is to be enjoyed religiously, with all due respect to a lady of 70 years.   for more Paul Giraud
Paul Giraud Cognac Napoleon 15 years Grande Champagne 40% 700ml - Brandy - Liquor Wine Cave
Paul Giraud Cognac Napoleon 15 years G... $174.02
For the aging of Napoleon, we only use 25% new barrel. Certainly, the new barrel brings two essential things: the colour and the woody tannins. But the very delicate aromas of vine flowers (comparable to acacia or elderflower) cannot stand to be masked by an excess of tannin, thus the use of less new oak. Further, we find a little acidity and freshness, as if we were crunching a grape during the grape harvest. Napoleon is the olfactory memory of white wine from Ugni-blanc. This natural acidity of the varietal - which would not necessarily be a quality for a table wine - becomes an essential asset for Grande Champagne brandies. The aromatic freshness of the whole range is supported by this acidity. Sweet, honeyed, plummy, pruney fruit on the palate. Same elegance, but more richness and depth, and savoury woody character. Classic Grande Champagne with perfect balance between fruit and age.

Paul Giraud Cognac Grand Champagne 58 ... $436.27
The penultimate stage of our journey through time and aromas, the spices of the Tres Rare are characteristic of a Grande Champagne at the top of its art: rich, powerful, intense and complex. Paul Giraud Cognac VSOP 8 years Grande Champagne 40% 700ml - Brandy - Liquor Wine Cave
Paul Giraud Cognac VSOP 8 years Grande... $142.16
The Paul Giraud VSOP Cognac is a wonderful example of how classically elegant a Cognac of this quality can be. Created solely from eaux-de-vie from the premier cru, Grande Champagne, you can enjoy this traditionally produced delight in a number of ways. It's delicious neat, perhaps in a balloon glass warmed gently in the hand in the time-honoured traditional manner. But it's also exceptional within a cocktail or with a mixer over ice. One of the reasons this is a stand out VSOP is because the age of much of the Eaux-de-vie within the blend is around 8 years, which is double the legal minimum. These extra years lead to a maturity seldom found in a Cognac of this level. Another talking point is that the house of Paul Giraud carries out their harvesting by hand–something rarely seen now in this age of automation and machinery. A great Cognac to own, and one that would be happily received as a gift by any lover of fine things. Nose: Earthy nose, with a touch of creaminess, slight grapiness. Palate: pleasant, light, grapy elegance of Cognac, light and poised, earthy-nicely, creamy, honeyed.   For more from Paul Giraud,

Paul Giraud Cognac 1999 40% 700ml - Brandy - Liquor Wine Cave
Paul Giraud Cognac 1999 40% 700ml $285.54
The new kid of the range has, like all the little ones, been the subject of special attention. I thought it would be interesting to age the last year of the century in a separate and unique cellar. The entire 1999 harvest has aged in the cellar of Villeneuve-Haut, slightly less humid than those of Montendres. It was bottled at the end of 2017. Aromatically, it is the bridge between the flower of Napoleon and the fruits of the old reserve (X.O.). The aroma of Napoleon's vine flower intensifies and becomes more captivating; the fruity side of the old reserve appears. This combination of aromas, as well as the aging in dryer cellars, give a higher liveliness and make it a more "intense" cognac. Its success with our amateur customers confirms us in the style of the house: single year and single vintage cognac.
