Unique association of 11 botanicals including the gentian root cultivated in the Massif Central, gin is distilled in small batches, in a bain-marie in the historic stills of the Gentiane SALERS. This slow distillation at low temperature preserves all the delicacy of the aromatics. The bitterness of the gentian is thus erased to extract the floral expression of its original terroir. Tasting notes OURNOSE: Intense with notes of citrus and cardamom enhanced by notes of juniper. ITS FLAVOUR: Spicy finish of pepper, ginger and gentian.

We are incredibly excited to share our 2021 vintage of this new annual release. The short season of blood oranges herald winter turning to spring. To celebrate, our blood oranges were sourced from a single orchard near Loxton, then peeled and distilled with the finest botanicals within days of picking.
Cool nights and sweltering days, typical of the region, produce the perfect growing conditions.
Juicy, loud, and playful โ they are paired with Riverland lemons and mandarins for citrus contrast and depth. Strawberry gum, chamomile and cinnamon myrtle enhance the floral characteristics.

This new gin has a new star ingredient: pear.ย
We have blended a variety of pear traditionally used to make pear cider in Normandy, known as Domfront, with juniper, vanilla, lemon, black pepper and iris root. A typical Norman cottage will have irises growing along the ridge of the thatched roof.ย
Pira is crafted according to our original gin recipe, in which each ingredient is macerated and distilled separately in order to extract the full aroma. The distillates are then assembled just before bottling.ย
Pira packaging replicates the visual identity of Christian Drouin Gin, but in a luscious raw green hue that brings pears to mind. It tastes of mouth-watering white fruit, black pepper and iris, as ever with the full-bodied flavour that has forged the reputation of gins by Drouin.ย
Serving suggestion: Serve neat or with tonic water, with a sliver of pear or an elderflower to garnish.
