Tasting note
Ballykeefe is a family farm distillery in County Kilkenny, built in 2016 by the Ging family to add a new line of work to their land. Every grain of barley in this single malt is sown, grown, harvested, milled and distilled on the farm, which the family calls field to glass.
The malted barley is triple distilled in handmade Italian copper pot stills. Ballykeefe says each bottle comes from one Kentucky bourbon oak cask, without blending, and is left at natural colour and non-chill filtered. It is bottled at 46%.
Nose. Soft and welcoming: toasted oak, citrus, coconut and creamy apple sponge.
Palate. Rich malt with mango and ripe banana, moving to toffee apple and crème brûlée.
Finish. Long, with apple custard and a light touch of clove.
More single malts from around the world are in our whisky collection.
