Tasting note
Hibiscus, blackcurrant and grapefruit bring the tang to Beach House Pink Spiced, with coconut to round out the sweetness. It is a flavoured rum from the Pamplemousses region of Mauritius.
How it is made. Molasses is fermented for about 35 hours and distilled in a column still. The rum is then gradually reduced with water, blended with natural flavourings and sugar, brought to 40% and left to settle for several weeks before bottling.
Tasting. Translucent with soft pink tints. The nose is fruity, like pink grapefruit juice lifted by sweet, floral hibiscus, with dark fruit emerging as it breathes. The palate is indulgent yet fresh, rather like a sorbet, with blackcurrant and coconut working together over a tangy, lively edge, and blackcurrant lingers on the finish.
Serving. Beach House builds cocktails such as the Pink Escape around it. See its siblings in our Beach House collection.
