Tasting note

Petit Chablis is the largest cuvee at Pierrick Laroche's Domaine des Hates in Maligny, in the north-west of Chablis, and it comes from close to twelve hectares of the family's vineyards. Laroche is a firm believer in his Petit Chablis sites and argues that his biggest parcel makes wine with the character of full Chablis. The fruit comes from two Maligny terroirs: a clay-rich plateau and limestone slopes facing south and south-east. Like all the domaine's wines, it is fermented in stainless steel, goes through full malolactic fermentation and rests on its lees before bottling, with no oak. The result is a bright, fresh Chardonnay with citrus and orchard fruit and a clean mineral finish. Serve well chilled as an aperitif, or with oysters, prawns and light seafood dishes.
