Tasting note

The 7 Years Old Peat Smoked was the first Glenturret whisky to feature the distillery's peated single malt, and it is the gentlest way into that style. It is matured in American oak, European oak and refill casks: the American oak brings sweetness and vanilla, while the European oak and refill wood keep citrus and smoke in focus. Sweet vanilla opens into citrus fruit and soft peat smoke, with ginger and nutmeg for spice and hints of sea salt and maturing oak. The finish is fruity and softly peated, with a lingering touch of smoke. In November 2024 the distillery announced it would stop using peat from 2025, so the 2025 Peat Smoked bottlings are the last of the style in the core range. Bottled at 46% at The Glenturret, near Crieff in Perthshire.
