Jean Fillioux 1953 Cognac 42% 350ml | Brandy | Shop online at Spirits of France
Jean Fillioux 1953 Cognac 42% 350ml $850.49
This 1953 bottle of Jean Fillioux Cognac is about as extraordinary as it gets in the world of spirits. Few spirits of any description, let alone fine Cognacs such as this, ever get to reach such an age. The spirit has been resting in French Oak casks for an astounding 57 years, meaning it is truly a once in a lifetime bottle. This long aging process in the cellars of the Fillioux estate have produced some incredibly rich flavours, of full dried fruits, dark honey, old sherry, overripe bananas and flowers. This is a spirit that rewards patience with a glissando of aroma, flavour, and a finish that lasts and lasts. Comes complete with a beautiful wooden presentation box, and would make the ideal gift for any spirit lover. Note that due to the extreme scarcity of stock, this is a 350ml bottling. About the producer: Jean Fillioux is simply one of the very best when it comes to Cognac. The family owns a fantastic 63 acres vineyard in the heart of the Grande Champagne area since 1880. Since five generation they showcase how good a grower-producer Cognac taste, always light in style, fruit driven and elegant.

Normandin-Mercier Cognac Tres Vieille 100 years+ (1880-1914) Grand Champagne 40% 700ml | Brandy | Shop online at Spirits of France
Normandin-Mercier Cognac Tres Vieille ... $1,941.18
The average age of the cognacs in this extraordinary Grande Champagne assemblage is at least 70 years, the oldest dating to 1872 when the Normandin-Mercier house was first founded. What little remains of this original stock continue to age in very old oak, undisturbed. The combination is a truly outstanding cognac with profound aromas and a subtle, soft "rancio" in its perfectly balanced rich, long taste of incomparable smoothness. Its 40% alcoholic strength is achieved entirely naturally, with no requirement for dilution. The simplest of labels understates the quality of this cognac. Tasting Notes: Eye: copper-coloured mahogany with reddish copper-coloured reflections. Nose: dominants fruity (candied fruits, dried fruits), empyreumatique (chocolate, burned (blown) out, smoked coffee(cafe)), rancio (Porto, wine storehouse of spirit), wooden (old barrel, limps in a cigar), spiced (cinnamon, vanilla, licorice, saffron). Notes: floral (pink)((rose)), vegetable (tobacco, lime tree), sweetened (honey). Palate: ample, powerful, aromatic. Fruity (dried fruits), rancio, empyreumatique, spiced (vanilla), wooden, very long.

Paul Giraud Cognac Heritage 60 years Grande Champagne 40% 700ml - Brandy - Liquor Wine Cave
Paul Giraud Cognac Heritage 60 years G... $806.37
The only blend - with Noblesse - of our range, the Heritage is to be classified separately, both aromatically and historically. This cognac has reached the paroxysm of oxidation. The aromas that have lost freshness and intensity tend towards almonds, kernels and the famous "rancio" so characteristic of very very old cognacs. This taste is difficult to describe. It is found in old beeswax furniture or old walnut oils; it only appears after a very long aging. It can also be found in Porto, Sherry, Maury. Such an aroma is inimitable: only time does its work. This cognac is to be enjoyed religiously, with all due respect to a lady of 70 years. ย  for more Paul Giraud ย
Paul Giraud Cognac Napoleon 15 years Grande Champagne 40% 700ml | Brandy | Shop online at Spirits of France
Paul Giraud Cognac Napoleon 15 years G... $174.02
For the aging of Napoleon, we only use 25% new barrel. Certainly, the new barrel brings two essential things: the colour and the woody tannins. But the very delicate aromas of vine flowers (comparable to acacia or elderflower) cannot stand to be masked by an excess of tannin, thus the use of less new oak. Further, we find a little acidity and freshness, as if we were crunching a grape during the grape harvest. Napoleon is the olfactory memory of white wine from Ugni-blanc. This natural acidity of the varietal - which would not necessarily be a quality for a table wine - becomes an essential asset for Grande Champagne brandies. The aromatic freshness of the whole range is supported by this acidity. Sweet, honeyed, plummy, pruney fruit on the palate. Same elegance, but more richness and depth, and savoury woody character. Classic Grande Champagne with perfect balance between fruit and age.

Paul Giraud Cognac Grand Champagne 58 ... $436.27
The penultimate stage of our journey through time and aromas, the spices of the Tres Rare are characteristic of a Grande Champagne at the top of its art: rich, powerful, intense and complex. The first sensations reveal pepper and cloves. Then a meatier side with leather and Havana as well as the stone fruits of the Vieille Reserve, but much more confit and oxidized. All very melted, always with the characteristic length of Grande Champagne. A must for full-bodied cigar lovers. ย  CLICK HERE for more Paul Giraud
Paul Giraud Cognac Vieille Reserve 25 years 'Heylante Cafafe' Grande Champagne 40% 700ml | Brandy | Shop online at Spirits of France
Paul Giraud Cognac Vieille Reserve 25 ... $441.18
The Vieille Rรฉserve is often the favourite cognac of our Grande Champagne lovers, especially ladies. This cognac expresses all the fullness of the fruity aromas typical of a Grande Champagne, aged for a long time in oak barrels. To fully appreciate this cognac, take time, sit in a good chair and heat the glass with the palm of your hand. The trip to a stone fruit orchard can begin. At the beginning of the tasting, the aromas of fresh fruit at the beginning of summer - like peach or apricot - appear. As the glass warms, aromas of riper fruit, more oxidized by the sun, are revealed, such as plums, prunes and Agen prunes. These are the fruits of late summer: hot, matured, and stewed. At the end of the tasting, spices appear then the vanilla side of the oak barrel. Round and mellow, this cognac is easily savoured. Another remarkable point, the length in the mouth, so characteristic of the Grande Champagne. The combination with a chocolate dessert (such as a Black Forest or a fondant) is quite appropriate. Francois Voyer Cognac Vaudon 2011 Fins Bois 43% 700ml This Fine Rare special is a young Cognac that has been aged for around 2-3 years while capturing the fruitier, naturally sweet eaux-de-vie from the Fins Bois. Grosperrin Cognac 1990 Fin Bois 45.7% 700ml | Brandy | Shop online at Spirits of France
Grosperrin Cognac 1990 Fin Bois 45.7% ... $357.84
This vintage Cognac comes from a winegrower in the commune of Bonneville, located between Rouillac and Aigre. This small property in the locality of Patreville is typical of family farms in the region. The 1990 harvest was stored at ORECO, under State control, from its distillation until June 2012, when we became owners. It has since been stored in one of our cellars, which is closed by a grid and placed under bailiff's seal.ย  Amber colour. On the nose, musky and vinous aromas (old Semillon), with a waxed sidelined with acetic notes. On the palate, greedy attack, the first notes confirm this characteristic nose, with a predominance of nutmeg and liquorice. It is a Cognac that is both supple and rustic, but increasingly greedy with aging.

Grosperrin Cognac 1969 Petite Champagn... $960.78
This vintage Cognac comes from a family of notaries established in Cognac for several generations. This 1969 Petite Champagne was part of the estate of the father, who had bequeathed his stocks to his wife and his son, a notary like him.ย The father had bought this lot in April 1970, thinking of reselling it at a better price a few years later, as was practiced at that time by a few well-informed individuals.ย Unfortunately, the oil crisis coupled with the end of the Vietnam War caused Cognac prices to collapse soon after. When he died, his wife and son did not get along, and the estate stalled for decades until we came up with a solution. Tasting notes: Amber color.ย A complex, rather classic Cognac.ย A late summer nose with notes of very ripe fruit, taped pears and prunes.ย Smoky touches, burnt notes and a Christmas Pudding side (candied grapes, orange peel, nutmeg).ย On the palate, power and freshness (lime blossom, hawthorn), which allows you to calmly approach all its complexity.ย A superb Cognac, for lovers of fine, natural classics. Gold medalย , Cognac Master, London, 2015.
