Tasting note
Salers is a gentian liqueur first made in 1885, when the distiller Alfred Labounoux created it from yellow gentian gathered in Auvergne on the slopes of the Puy Mary, near the village of Salers. Today the brand belongs to the Vedrenne group, and this is the full one litre bottle at 16%.
Method. The gentian roots are washed, crushed and steeped in alcohol for several weeks, which gives the colour and the signature bitterness. The roots are then distilled in copper stills heated in a bain-marie, the distillate is blended back with the first infusion and a bouquet of spices and botanicals, and the blend rests in a Limousin oak vat for more than three years.
Tasting. An elegant, unmistakably gentian nose with an earthy edge, and a palate that stays true to the root's bitter character.
Serve it. The house serve is a Salers Tonic: 40ml of Salers and 100ml of tonic built over ice in a large wine glass, finished with a twist of orange. It also makes a sharp, earthy swap in a Negroni. More bitter styles are in our aperitifs collection.

Free delivery on orders over $499, anywhere in Australia except the Northern Territory, which we do not deliver to. Standard rates apply below that and are calculated at checkout.
Once your order is confirmed you will receive a shipping notification with a tracking reference. Larger or mixed orders sometimes travel as more than one parcel, and you will get tracking for each.
Alcohol can only be delivered to a person aged 18 or over. The courier may ask for photo ID and will not leave your order unattended. We do not offer authority to leave on alcohol orders.
We do not deliver to PO boxes or parcel lockers.
