Tasting note
Gently bitter, citrusy and rooted in Provence, Gentiane de Lure is an aperitif wine from Distilleries et Domaines de Provence and one of the house's oldest recipes. Gentian grows wild in the mountains of the region, especially the Lure massif that the bottle is named for.
Tasting. Yellow with old-gold glints. The nose is vegetal and rooty, lifted by citrus, forest floor and a spice that can recall curry. Citrus leads on the palate before the gentian takes over for a firm, bitter finish that lingers.
What goes in. A base of white wine, mainly Grenache and Ugni Blanc, and liqueur wine is infused with gentian root and sweet and bitter orange peel, then balanced with alcohol and sugar.
Serving. Serve it chilled, over ice or in a cocktail. The distillery mixes equal parts with gin and vermouth in its Comte de Forcalquier, and it also appears in a white negroni. Find more in our aperitif collection.

Alcohol can only be delivered to a person aged 18 or over. The courier may ask for photo ID and will not leave your order unattended. We do not offer authority to leave on alcohol orders.
